you sat still and silent, working on the the immense concentration and focus it took to enter the second stage of the Genji. your eyes once golden shifted to a mix of light turquoise and emerald, saying that you had finally managed complete serenity. anyone in the Akatsuki gang wouldn't dare mess with you now, even for a mission. slowly you stretched out your consious, flitting over the weaker patterns of insects or other small creatures and trying to reach Itachi. you paused in your search, Itachi was like the big brother of the group, constantly watching to make sure you didn't hurt yourself. picking up your search again, you finally found him, his mind shrouded in shadow as he pursued his own deep thoughts. you touched him softly, making him stir slightly from lotus position. prodding him again caused him to look around. he muttered a curse and went back to his meditations. you smirked and broke down the thin walls that protected his mind. normally it would offer sufficent protection from genjutsus but you weren't using genjutsus. he jumped and nearly fell over from the force of the invasion.

I have things in my mind you do not need to see, now go. you pouted mentally and retreated, switching your search to Deidera or Sasori. normally they where quiet a distance from the base getting supplies and what not. but to your great displeasure and nausiating sickness you found them. you were several feet away but you could feel what was going on between them and the two other women that you didn't recognize. shuddering you retreated back to your body, breaking the consentration. a soft sensational throbbing beat in your lower stomach. your eyes turned completely turquoise as you wondered what it was. eventually it went away, freeing your mind for other thoughts. you stiffened, a thick heavy shroud of chakkra brushed you, sending shivers down your spine. you turned to see Pein stalking towards you, his face blank and emotionless as ever.

"I have an assignment for you, i left the details in your room. it's not a tough one, so you should be back in two days."

"Two days, got it." he nodded and left in a puff of smoke.

"Show off." you muttered and rose from your position next to the river, stretching and mimicking his exit to your room. you inhaled deeply, enjoying the scent of home as you looked around. there, on the black pillow of your bed, was a small scroll. your read it aloud to remember every instruction.

"Lena, go to the small neighboring village, there you should find a caravan going through the town on it's way to Kohona, distract and extract the cargo, it's a small black box with a red dragon inscribed on the front. have it back here in two days without getting tailed." you tossed the scroll and picked up one of your to-go packs before leaping out of your window. it only took half a day to reach the village, but you soon found out why it would take two days. the caravan had arrived but it was heavily guarded.

Damn, i wonder what's so important about the cargo? you dug out a change of normal clothes and your favorite diguise hat. once you were finished hiding your weapon in descrete yet easily accessed places, you set to watch and observe the caravan. it didn't take long to find an easy weak point. every three hours they would change shifts except at night when it was every four. you waited till the moon was high and the next shift change was at it's most exposed. diggiing out every paper bomb you had and the clay bird Deidera had given you, you leapt high into the air, landing on the bird and began your rain of terror. soon the air was thick with smoke and ash and the guards were stuck in a state of confusion. your eyes turned a bright golden color, shining in the moonlight like a demon's. you dropped down and ripped the caravan door off its hinges. a fist came to greet you, slamming hard into your left cheek. you staggered and looked up, your eyes turning a deep red. a boy no older than you with spiky blonde hair stood there smiling victoriously. you growled and charged, his smile dissappearing faster than Tobi when it came to getting cookies. one solid punch was enough to knock him out cold and give you enough time to grab what you wanted. by the time the smoke cleared, you were long gone, box and all. to your great surprise, the entire gang was standing outside of the well hidden compound, some smiling others with michievous looks plastered to their faces. you slowed to a stop, standing just a few feet away.

"ummm, i got the box?" for the first time in your entire stay you saw Pein smile, even it was something closer to a smirk.

"Now open it Lena." you frowned your eyes turning turquoise again. fumbling with the series of latches so you finally opened it to reveal a beautiful necklace, one inscribed with a specail dragon seal.

"That particular necklace was made during the wars when people with kekkeii genkaii were most wanted, this happens to intensify your unique powers so that entering the third stage will be as easy as being in the first stage. happy birthday." you stood dumbfounded, your gaze constantly shifting from turquoise to gold to red and back before fixating on a solid shining gold. you blushed and scratched the back of your head nervously, smiling sheepishly.

"hate to tell you my master, but my birthday isn't until next month." every one jaws dropped as you spoke until Pein cut in.

"not anymore, now it is a month early, come it is time for the celebration these idiots insisted on setting up." Tobi clapped happily and you joined in with him. he took your hands and jumped up and down excitedly.

"Lena, you must open Tobi's present first cause Tobi is a good boy!" you nodded and took off running with Tobi screaming and yelling at eachother all the way.

"when do we give your real gift Leader?" muttered Itachi.

"oh, i think i know when. come lets get this over with." you sat in the huge living room trembling with excitment as the rest of the members piled in. each one trying to get you to open their present first.

"i promised Tobi i'd open his first."

"Tobi is a good boy!" you held out your hands and Tobi handed you a small box. wasting no time you opened it to find...... a cupcake? you tilted your head down in what seemed like dissappointment as the other leaned in.

"Tobi this is.......Totally awesome!!" every one fell back as you rambled on about the cupcake. Itachi pushed Zetzu forward. he handed you a delicatly wrapped object. you found it to be the most beautiful black rose.

"Zetzu, did you grow this?" he nodded, the white half of his face blushing. your eyes turn a soft pink as you leaned forward, pecking him softly on the cheek before his dark half could take over. after that you got things like clay tigers and wolves from Deidera, a small puppet from Sasori, or a money safe from Kakuzu. just as you finished examining Konan's gift Pein stood clearing his throat.

"i have important business to attend to, why don't you occupy yourselves with a game while i'm gone." before any one could protest(even if they could) he left. almost instantly people began arguing about what they wanted to play. you sat happy and humming to yourself until Itachi came up behind you and moved aside a few starnds of hair before whispering softly in your ear.

"say it, repeat what i just said Lena."

"yes big brother." you stood and clapped your hands, earning the attention of everyone.

"i say, lets play sixty minutes in heaven." for minutes, every one simply stared, but abruptly erupted into loud wild cheering. you turned to Itachi.

"you'll find out soon enough." you watched in silent confusion as Itachi prepared a bag full of cards of two. he passed it around once and told you to take the last card.

"alright everyone show your cards." he said boredly. you looked at yours, it had the symbol of your old village scratched into the black wood. Itachi showed you his and you saw that it was a match to yours. the others looked around embaressed or dissappointed as he lead you away to your room. suddenly he pushed you up against a wall.

"listen little sister, Leader has a specail gift for you in your room, but you can't come out of your room until i say so which could be for a very long time, understand?" you nodded and he backed off and let you into your room shuting and locking the door behind you. you turned on the light and gasped in surprise.

"what the fuck?" you muttered as your eyes landed on the bound form of the boy from before. he looked up at you and glared. suddenly for no reason what so ever your eyes darked to a deep blue, recognition flooding over you.

"Naruto......." you fell to your knees, your mind throbbing for some reason. he froze as he watched. you looked up sharply and locked eyes with him, your mind reaching out, breaking through his barriers like you did with Itachi and pulled up the memories of you and him from that wonderful time before your family's death. his eyes widened from shock. you smiled and removed the gag.

"Lena, is that you?" you nodded and reached for the bonds around his wrists. "So you have been with them all this time?" you nodded again. "it hurt all of us, bad when you left, especailly Sasuke, even though he didn't want to say it."

"how is he?"

"gone and with Orochimaru. he left shortly after you." you set aside the rope and sat back looking into his blue eyes.

"and you?" he looked to the side and leaned back into the wall.
